You tell a good story, Mike. I agree, its always nice to know how you’ll react in a panicked moment, for what its worth I am in a way proud of the way you reacted. Although, while what you did is remarkable, I think your mind for safety on your flights is incredibly admirable as well. Don’t let the monotony or bureaucracy take that away.

“We call up Teresa who takes a look and we all wave as we pass them by.”

hell yeah! The common trait of all flight crews is that we’re all big geeks.

Geez… That would be pretty hair raising.

But it’s really, really awesome how you handled the situation. I’d like to hope that if I were working the ramp and somehow found myself in a similar situation, that there would be someone equally as calm and collected there to help out.

I hope you plan on doing more of these when you have the time; they’re quite interesting to read, not to mention highly informative.

Thanks for the feedback. I had you in mind when I decided to start the project, and figured it would be interesting for everyone. What I wanted to highlight was that the job is far more than flying, and that flying was actually the easy and more laid back part of the day.

Day to day operations are running smoother since I wrote this and I’m not as cynical about going to work this month, which is good. I try to maintain a high degree of professionalism at work and expect others to do the same.

I would like to do it again! Maybe not for a full week, but when interesting things or thoughts occur. Again, thanks for reading and keep the dream alive!
